Ian will cater to wherever you are in your journey with The Bard, and his fun, excellent technique can be applied to ANY text, not just Shakespeare.

Ian Hersey is a renowned actor, director, and educator who has been part of the RL familia for over a decade. His acting work spans theater, film, TV and commercials, most recently playing Bottom the Weaver in A Midsummer Night’s Dream to rave reviews at The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey. He has directed over a dozen productions of Shakespeare, including a self-adapted, twenty-five minute version of Othello for the Jose Limón Dance Company. He served as the Assistant Director for both the Tony Award-winning director Dan Sullivan on Cymbeline at The Delacorte and Obie-winning director James MacDonald on the star-studded King Lear at The Public. Also at The Public, Ian worked as the Associate in the Shakespeare Initiative where he helped to start The Mobile Unit and developed/ran many educational programs, including the hugely successful A Midsummer Day’s Camp and The Shakespeare Lab.
