The third annual TeatroStageFest, highlighting the work of Latino and Ibero-American theatre artists, launches June 15 with Broadway’s R.Evolución Latina.

The festival, which runs through June 28, offers a cross-section of dance, music, comedy, workshops and artist panels, representing the artistic contributions of the Latino community.
The first evening, Broadway’s R.Evolución Latina, features In the Heights cast members Andrea Burns, Janet Dacal, Rogelio Douglas Jr., Doreen Montalvo and Eliseo Román in a concert of show tunes and personal songs at Joe’s Pub. The 7 PM performance was conceived by In the Heights associate choreographer and performer Luis Salgado.

Theatrical offerings include Claudio Tolcachir’s Third Wing from Argentina’s Teatro Timbre 4 (June 27-28) and Guillermo Calderón’s December from Chile’s Teatro en el Blanco (June 27-28). The comedy line-up will feature Marga Gomez in Long Island Iced Latina (June 18-21), Bill Santiago’s Pardon My Spanglish. ¡Porque Because! (June 19-20) and Andrés López’s double-bill of Pelota de Letras Version 1,000 and Yo me pido la ventana (June 27).

On June 22, NY1′s Patrick Pacheco will host a panel discussion with Luis Salgado (In The Heights), Michael Balderrama (In the Heights) and Gabriela García (Chicago) on the topic of Latino artists working on Broadway.

A June 25 panel will feature a dialogue between Ramón Miranda Torres (director of Cultural Affairs for the Government of Aragón), Jorge Mur (director of the Graus Performing Arts International Festival) and Roberto Barra and Azucena Gimeno (artistic directors of Caleidoscopio Teatro) focusing on the Spanish government’s funding of theatre. The June 24 panel will include playwright-directors Claudio Tolcachir and Guillermo Calderón.

The festival is produced by the Latino International Theater Festival of New York, an organization that supports Latino theatre year-round.
