I come from a place where a big star in a blue triangle accompanied by red and white stripes sets a display in the sky. From a tiny speck in the Caribbean that has made an impact in the world.
Hi, my name is Adriana Isabel and I’m from la Isla del Encanto, Puerto Rico. To give a little background information, I am the daughter of Puerto Rican parents and born in the States but was raised in Puerto Rico. I’ve been dancing for 10 year and acting for around 7. The arts are my passion.
Since I was little my dream has always been to be an actress on Broadway and Hollywood, to make an impact. I want to be able to share my story and my experiences to inspire future generations just how I’ve been inspired . Show the Latino community how valuable and powerful we are, and that we can do anything we put our minds to.
I was raised in a strong household. Full of values. I was taught to never give up in what I want. To be humble, to not let anyone bring me down, that obstacle are everywhere but we have to learn to overcome it. This is why I took the challenge of Daring to go Beyond and be part of the NextGenRL, a group of young artists like me committed to be leaders of change through the arts.
People I’ve been inspired by have been Jennifer Lopez, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Rita Moreno and now added to the list, Luis Salgado (coincidently an all Puerto Rican group). I recently added Luis to the list once I met him in this year’s RL Summer Camp. He is such an amazing person and to see what he has created for us as Latinos really inspired me. To top it all off, Puerto Rican. I feel extremely lucky to have met him.
Lastly, I’m not going to give up until I make an impact in this world just like these amazing people.
