I’m so excited to get the ball rolling with RL this year! As the new marketing coordinator you’ll be hearing a lot from me, so to supplement the launch of our new look and site, here’s our first post to start the year! We’ve got so much coming up, starting with the Beyond Workshop Series. I’ve been working closely with the co-coordinators of the volunteer program, Israel Gutierrez and Cedric Leiba (who you’ll also be hearing from a lot). I wanted to learn a little more about their connection to RL, and see what they were looking forward to this year, and here’s what they had to say!
Ps…We also had a little photo shoot in Times Square, they’re so much fun to hang with!
So what’s the new look?
Israel: RL decided to go through a drive-thru car wash and what came out is an extra stretch limousine with room to fit A LOT of people! Polished and cleaned, RL has a new engine with a great team of people who are willing to go beyond and test how far we can go! And our limo driver has magic powers that makes red lights turn to green and we get no speeding tickets cuz we’re cool like that.

We’re doing this by actively keeping you involved through our newsletter, new blog, and social networks (facebook/twitter). Within RL we have also created new groups with different focuses to better serve our cause.
What are you excited about/looking forward to in 2012?
Israel: I’m excited to see R.Evolucion Latina’s Annual Gala in December of 2012. I’m excited to see how we have accomplished all the crazy goals we’ve set for ourselves!
Cedric: I am truly looking forward to recruiting people who want to give back and personally meeting all of our volunteers![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
How’d you get involved with RL?
Israel: I was playing opposite in a film with Robin De Jesus. We were chatting about “the biz” and he told me about RL. I signed up for email notifications and before I knew it, I was taking the Dance Beyond Workshop Series and The Shakespeare Project….began to assist the directors in events….and now, here I am. And here we are. And here you read this 🙂
Cedric: I have ALWAYS wanted to be involved with RL but never made a strong enough effort to connect with the group. This summer I was performing in “Yellow Brick Road” @ the Lucille Lortel and RL brought a group of students from their summer camp to see our show. I met the students afterwards and spoke briefly to Gabriela. She gave me her business card and I ended up attending a “church” meeting in September. I was incredibly inspired and empowered by the meeting and was looking forward to experiencing more.

How can others get involved?
Israel: Email us, Facebook us, tweet us, yell at us when you see us on the street, LinkedIn us, come and stop by our office and pull our hair out for us!
Cedric: Email us! Facebook us! Twitter us! Show up to a meeting! Be present, active and vocal about wanting to make a difference. Dare To Go Beyond.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
