Kelsey Burns

Dance

dance background includes flamenco, musical theatre, tap, modern, jazz, ballet, contemporary, salsa, and American Rhythm ballroom, and has greatly informed Kelsey’s approach to choreographing for theatre and devising work from the ground up. She has worked with Movement of the People for four years, and has also collaborated with Cirque du Soleil, R.Evolución Latina, The Movement Playground, the New Dance Collective, and Dance Week NYC. Kelsey has served as choreographer for both classical and contemporary productions, from Shakespeare and Molière to Duncan Sheik’s Spring Awakening, and Michael John LaChiusa’s Little Fish. Kelsey graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study where she studied the integration of dance, theatre, and performed narratives, and later returned as Artist-in-Residence.

In her free time, Kelsey freelances in technical production as a carpenter and electrician. She is available for tutoring in English, Spanish, French, Writing, and Executive Function for children of all ages.
