R.Evolución Latina partners with the Museum of Broadway for a special panel celebrating the powerful journey of Real Women Have Curves—from the beloved film to its bold reimagining as a new Broadway musical.

This conversation will explore the importance of telling stories that center on identity, family, and the resilience of women. Featuring special guests from the production, we’ll dive into themes of representation, body positivity, and the joy of seeing our lived experiences reflected on stage. We’ll also shine a spotlight on the music in this new adaptation—the rhythms and songs that elevate the emotional heartbeat of the story and celebrate the vibrant spirit of the Latine community.

Tatiana Córdoba | Tatianna is SO excited to be making her Broadway debut! This Bay Area native is a proud Latina/Filipina who received a BFA in Musical Theater from Boston Conservatory. HUGE thank-you to the DGRW family, the Córdoba 5, Joe, and the RWHC team for believing in her.

Claudia Mulet | Cuban-born performer, visual creator, and director, passionate about meaningful projects that celebrate and uplift women and our “Latinaje.” Patria y Vida! Credits include: In the Heights at La Mirada Theatre, On Your Feet! National Tour, and Cuban production of RENT, featured in the HBO Max documentary Revolution Rent.

Sergio Trujillo / Director and Choreographer | Sergio Trujillo is an internationally acclaimed director and choreographer, renowned for his dynamic storytelling and movement across Broadway, the West End, and global stages. In 2019, he became the first Latino to win the Tony Award for Best Choreography for Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations. His accolades also include the 2015 Olivier Award for Memphis, a Tony nomination for On Your Feet!, and multiple Drama Desk and NAACP Awards. Trujillo’s recent directorial projects feature Real Women Have Curves – The Musical on Broadway and The Harder They Come at The Public Theater. He co-founded Truworthy Productions to develop Latin musicals, with upcoming works like Casa de las Flores and Like Water for Chocolate. His choreography extends to television, including the 2021 and 2024 Tony Awards and NBC’s Annie Live!. A Colombian native raised in Toronto, Trujillo resides in New York City and serves on advisory boards for Ballet Hispánico, R.Evolución Latina, and the American Theatre Wing.

Florencia Cuenca | Broadway debut! First Mexican immigrant to originate a co-leading role in a Broadway musical. Original Real Women Have Curves ART cast. Shadia Fairuz | Shadia Fairuz has built a vibrant career in the performing arts, gracing renowned stages like Carnegie Hall, Russia’s Hermitage, B.B. King’s, and Repertorio Español, with performances spanning Japan, Spain, and the Americas. Classically trained, she fluidly blends opera, jazz, and musical theater, bringing storytelling to life through music. She’s shared the stage with legends like Tito Nieves and Danny Rivera and starred in major productions, including On Your Feet! and In the Heights, earning a Helen Hayes nomination. Beyond performing, Shadia is a passionate educator, teaching for over 15 years across NYC with organizations like the Metropolitan Opera Guild and Harbor Conservatory.
