R.Evolución Latina and Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theater proudly presented the 2025 edition of our transformative Beyond Workshop Series, culminating in the development of a new musical: Aguardiente: In Process
A Global Artistic Journey
This year’s program brought together 54 passionate artists, including 10 international participants traveling from Latin America and Spain, for a journey of growth, collaboration, and creativity.
For two weeks, our cast trained and created at the National Dance Institute, immersing themselves in a space that fostered leadership, artistic excellence, and cultural pride. We then transitioned to our beloved home at Pregones Theater, a Puerto Rican institution that has continuously embraced our mission and provided a nurturing space for the next chapter of the process.
A Process Like No Other
With the guidance of artistic director Luis Salgado and the R.Evolución Latina team, our participants experienced:
-
2 weeks of immersive educational training
-
1 week of intensive rehearsals
-
3 days of tech
-
4 sold-out performances
All culminating in a vibrant showcase of a musical-in-progress, performed entirely in Spanish.
Creating More Than Just a Show
The energy was electric. The growth was undeniable. These emerging artists didn’t just perform—they took ownership of their work, infusing each moment with authenticity, boldness, and heart. Together, they formed more than an ensemble—they became a family, inspired and empowered to continue pursuing their dreams.
“This wasn’t just about putting on a show—it was about building community, representing our cultures, and daring to grow beyond our limits.”

This work-in-progress performance offers an intimate glimpse into the creative process behind a musical rooted in authenticity and Latine culture. Developed in collaboration with Daniel Gutiérrez and an ensemble of over 45 emerging artists, the piece pulses with energy, resilience, and the transformative power of storytelling. This showcase production, currently in development is commissioned by GALA Theatre in Washington, D.C., and will premiere there in 2026.
Words from Participant:
“Walking into the program, I didn’t know exactly what to expect but I had my hopes. To be heard, to be challenged, to connect, which this all exceeded my expectations. The commitment of Rev.Latinas mission statement was refreshing and inspiring. Luis’s commitment to everyone having their moment to shine and the importance of all not just one was something that has stuck with me throughout the entirety of my time with you all and after. Also being able to connect with my heritage was something I was extremely appreciative of, as well as my family who saw Aguardiente. My abuelo was smiling from ear to ear the entire time watching and being able to watch something in his first language was something that stuck with him. ” by Tyler VanTassel
