Fresh off the American Repertory Theater revival of EVITA, Kelsey Burns is BACK! An amazing dancer, choreographer and collaborator, Kelsey has been with us through several iterations of the Beyond Workshop Series, where she has been so grounding and transformative to work with.
Kelsey’s diverse dance background includes flamenco, musical theatre, tap, modern, jazz, ballet, contemporary, salsa, and American Rhythm ballroom, and has greatly informed Kelsey’s approach to choreographing for theatre and devising work from the ground up. She has worked with Movement of the People for four years, and has also collaborated with Cirque du Soleil, R.Evolución Latina, The Movement Playground, the New Dance Collective, and Dance Week NYC. Kelsey has served as choreographer for both classical and contemporary productions, from Shakespeare and Molière to Duncan Sheik’s Spring Awakening, and Michael John LaChiusa’s Little Fish. Kelsey graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study where she studied the integration of dance, theatre, and performed narratives, and later returned as Artist-in-Residence.
