2024 BWS+ Spring Schedule

The BWS+ offers accessible continuing education and professional development for our Beyond Workshop Series artists through virtual and in-person classes, connecting with industry professionals, roundtable discussions, volunteer and performance opportunities. Our goals are to maintain a deep, valuable connection with our artists and investment in them, further their training, encourage company-generated content, and empower them in their own professional/path.

We are grateful for all of the donations and support that make this programming possible.

All we ask in return is that our students engage in the Cycle of Giving by donating their time back to RL or to their own community, carrying the dare to go beyond mission forward. Welcome to the familia!

Theater Dance with Michael Bryan Wang

Come celebrate AAPI month by dancing some MOULIN ROUGE moves with Broadway’s Michael Bryan Wang! Michael is an incredible performer/teacher whom you may have seen in SLEEP NO MORE and BEETLEJUICE, to name a few, and he now serves as the assistant dance captain and a swing for MOULIN ROUGE! This is one you don’t want to miss, familia! ALL LEVEL WELCOME. $8

Our beloved (and award-winning) music director/composer extraordinaire Andrew Sotomayor is BACK! He will be bringing his expertise gained from music directing TOOTSIE and ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE (First National Tours), and CURVY WIDOW (Off-Broadway Premiere). Come practice your vocal material in a safe, supportive environment while reconnecting with community.

Exploring Meisner with Mel Mattos

Join our very own (and brilliant Brazilian) Melissa Mattos for a deep-dive into Meisner Technique, including the famous repetition exercises to get us out of our heads and into our listening bodies, as well as other classics like provocative questions, emotional preparation, independent activities and cold reads! Melissa has been working for the past 15 years in everything from STUPID F*CKING BIRD (Broadway World Nominated for Best Performance) to IN THE HEIGHTS (Regional) to RENT (International tour) to EURYDICE (Off-Broadway), so we are very lucky to get to work with her!
