Gabriela Garcia

Co-Founder Director

Gabriela is an artist who divides her time between the TV, film, theater, dance, commercial and education industries with an extensive international career. She holds a BA in Performing Arts from Saint Mary’s College of California, is a recipient of the Mujeres Destacadas award given by El Diario. She is a proud co-founder of R.Evolución Latina, a non-profit organization that activates individual and collective human growth through artistic experiences for transformation and social change.

Gabriela was associate director/choreographer alongside director Luis Salgado for The Broadway League’s VIVA BROADWAY 2021 concert in Times Square. She has directed cabaret shows at 54Below and Green Room 42 in New York City. She staged the choreography for CHICAGO Düsseldorf, was movement associate for Sweeney Todd at the Barrow Street Theater and associate choreographer for Public Works’ Twelfth Night at the Delacorte Theater. In 2019 she participated as a guest dramaturg and choreographer for the production NAVIDAD by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, a project that she keeps very close to her heart in homage to her Mexican roots. Her love, respect and knowledge of the Fosse® style took her to Peru where she choreographed Sweet Charity and CHICAGO for the production company Preludio. She has also choreographed for the Joffrey Ballet School’s NYC Jazz and Contemporary Program performances, BC/EFA benefit galas, and the R.Evolución Latina Choreographers Festival.

She dedicated 12 years of her life as the dance captain and ensemble member of CHICAGO The Musical on Broadway, US tours, and the Vienna and Mexico City companies where she played the role of Velma Kelly. Other theater credits include Half Time the musical, Roman Holiday, Carousel, West Side Story, Joseph and the Amazing … Dreamcoat, My Fair LadyREAL by Rodrigo Nogueira and Luciernagas directed by Carlos Armesto.

Within the film world she can be seen in the film In The Heights directed by John M. Chu. She also participated in Enchanted and Whatever Lola Wants. On television she has participated in “Law and Order SVU,” “New Amsterdam,”  “Succession” and  “Jessica Jones”. She has a 20-year career as an announcer for television and radio spots for the national Hispanic market in the United States, and has recorded more than 100 audio book titles.

As a teaching artist, her theater dance and ballet classes have reached schools around the world, including Germany, Austria, Mexico, Peru, Sweden, China, to name a few, and in New York at Ellison Ballet, PACE University, Ithaca College, CAP 21 and Joffrey Ballet school where she also acted as co-coordinator for the Joffrey Ensemble.
