What program or aspect of RL are you most excited to work on?
The program I am most excited about is the Beyond Workshop Series because I like watching performance. While listening to the advice being given, I learn more about the type of art they are doing.
How did you get involved with the arts?
I got involved in the arts when I first came to the United States, at the age of 10, with my best friend. We both had the same interest in drawing and dancing. There was a time where we decided to come up with our break dance crew.
What about NYC are you looking forward to?
What I am looking forward to in NYC is learning about the different types of business and organizations, and how they are helpful to the community.
I am so lucky and happy to have the opportunity to be part of RL because I always wanted to see beyond the arts and how people accomplish their goals in life. So far I have learned that if you really want something in life you have to work really hard to achieve it. I used to be one of those people who thought that only by finishing my education I would get what I want. This organization has taught me that in order to succeed in life you will have to go through many things in life that you might not expect. But if that is what I have to go through I will do it, with hard work and effort to accomplish my goal.
What is “Dare to go beyond”?
When I first started with RL I kept hearing people say, ” Dare to Go Beyond.” I was like, “What do they mean by this? How can we go beyond?” Now I have learned the meaning of Daring to Go Beyond and to me this means that every one should push themselves a little bit more in life. Not to be afraid of obstacles. To help others through your way. Don’t be afraid to take the next step. You might never know what life might bring you when you push yourself forward. Take the risk and something good will come out of it. I dare to go beyond by waking up everyday, going to school, and coming to RL without knowing what will happen each day. But I always take the risk, and I always learn something from each day I spend doing what I like. This will be a great experience for me. I know it. I feel it, and I am living it!
Always remember these 4 words, DARE TO GO BEYOND.
